I was born and raised in Cleveland, TN-I absolutely love it here! I cannot imagine ever leaving! My family is a huge part of my life, we are all very close and they have definitely shaped me into the person I am today. My education section tells about my personal education experiences.
I played sports in school and sports are still a huge part of my life. I played basketball from elementary school through high school, and volleyball in middle and high school. I currently coach the JV/Freshman Cheerleading squad for WVHS.
I have a very unique story about WVHS and how I got where I am today...when I was in the 6th grade at NLS my class, as well as several other 6th grade classes from Michigan Ave and Charleston took a field trip to a field, literally. I had no idea why we were there, and paid very little attention, I just knew we were out of class! It was only later that I learned that the "field" was the future site of what is now WVHS.
Growing up I wanted nothing more than to be a Bradley Bearette, since that was the high school in which I was zoned at the time. It was not until a knee injury my sophomore year that I considered moving to WVHS the next year when the school opened. My parents and I went to a tour of WVHS in its beginning stages, and I knew it was the place for me. It was VERY exciting being apart of something so big! I remember voting on the school colors and mascot-that was a huge deal!
My Junior year (2001) was the first year WVHS was open and it was filled with so much excitement. The first day of classes the school was not yet complete and we ate lunch in our classrooms, but we loved every minute of it. We were a small group and it was great getting to know people and coming together as one. I still remember the first football game, and the first time we were able to practice on the new gym floor. Everyone knew we were apart of something big, something that is once in a lifetime. I never imagined I would be back there working with my former teachers and administrators. It is truly an honor to work under these wonderful people who had a huge part in making me the teacher/woman I am today. I am blue and gold all the way, and I hope to be there as long as I am allowed! :)
