Lonza corporation partnered with Walker Valley high school to recognize students who recorded top performance on the national ACT. The result was a record-setting number of students who scored a 30 or higher on the ACT this year. Lonza has committed to be the ACT partner with the school by providing funds for an ACT wall of Fame and to provide personal incentives for students at the school who reach certain benchmarks of performance. The 30 students who passed the threshold of a composite score of 30 or higher on the ACT were provided with free prom tickets by Walker Valley’s BEST (Business and Education Serving Together) partner, as well as a number of other rewards. With the efforts of these students and the other 318 graduating seniors in the class of 2018 (32 of which had a composite ACT score between 27-29), the school’s new preliminary ACT average is 22.03 – the highest in the school’s history! Walker Valley High School would like to thank Lonza Corp. for its support and celebration of our student’s academic successes!
