Walker Valley Bowler Signs with Bethel Bowling

McKenzie, Tenn. - Lauren Smeltzer of Charleston, Tennessee has signed with the Bethel University Bowling Team. She attended Walker Valley High School where she bowled for four years. Lauren will major in Nursing at Bethel and is the daughter of John and Darlene Smeltzer of Charleston.

Lauren finished in the top four in the district all four years, second in YABA in 2011 and second in the Tennessee Top 5 Tournament in 2010. She was also an honor student all four years at Walker Valley High School.

She feels her best strength is her strong passion for bowling. She was also recruited by Cumberland University and Martin Methodist College. She chose Bethel because of the bowling and nursing programs and because of the growth of the campus.

Coach Boyd is excited about Lauren being a part of the team. “We are extremely excited about the opportunity to have Lauren be a part of our Bethel family. She is going to be an asset to our women’s team.”
