Looking Ahead!

As many students, parents and family members look forward to graduation, please take an opportunity to look even further ahead into the future.

As you prepare for life after high school be certain that you use the knowledge gained while here, but also remember to embrace the relationships you have forged as well. With knowledge and strong relationships you will be empowered to engage in a future filled with success. There will be struggles along the way but the future is bright as long as you draw on the experiences you have had to help you through. Make the last nine weeks of your senior year a meaningful stepping stone for your future. May 10th is not far away.

For our underclassmen as you prepare for next year and the registration process there are new avenues and opportunities to explore. We will be adding Advance Placement courses to our curriculum and we will be improving our school by adding the academy concept. As you register you will be placed in an academy based upon the classes you choose. Some students will be in multiple academies because of their curricular choices. This will give you an opportunity to focus on your future as well as provide our teachers an opportunity to focus on you and the way you learn. This is an exciting opportunity for our school to help you look ahead and build your talent and knowledge base for your future endeavors.

For our parents we will be letting you know more about what we will be doing at Walker Valley as we continue our grade level meetings. The next meeting is March 13 for our sophomore parents. You will also be receiving information from the Guidance Counselors as the registration process moves forward.
